Bob Edward STEARLEY, 78, Ft Myers, FL, formerly of Brazil, died unexpectedly 7-11-2009 in Valparaiso, IN. He was born 2-21-1931 in Clay Co to Melvin and Edith STEARLEY MYERS. He was later adopted and raised by his parents, Edward and Bess STEARLEY. Bob graduated from Brazil HS, class of 1949 and was employed by Poland Hardware. He later began work for Public Service Indiana and retired following more than 41 yrs of service. From 1951-53 he served in the infantry in the Korean Conflict until his honorable discharge in 1953. On 11- 25-1953 he married Geraldine NEESE STEARLEY. She survives. He was a 50 yr member of AMP #2 and CP Masonic Lodge #597. Following retirement in 1992 he and Geri moved to Ft Myers, FL where they spent 16 wonderful years. He was an active member of St John's UCC in Stearleyville and later the Church of the Cross in Ft Myers. Bob was a loving husband to Geri for their 56 years of marriage and a devoted father to his children Debra Fay STOUGH and husband Larry of Jeffersonville, IN and son Douglas and wife Kristine of New Brighton, MN. His special loves were his grandchildren Mathew STEARLEY and Nathan STEARLEY, Chad (Kerry) STOUGH of Dallas, GA: Kristin (Paul) HAUSWALD of Corydon, IN and his great grandchildren Bradley, Cody and Christa HAUSWALD. Services will take place Thursday at 2 pm at Lawson-Miller Chapel, 1702 E National Ave., Brazil with Rev Steve Moore officiating. Burial will follow at St John's Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 4-8 pm.

Cleo I. Balch Kalber, 78, of Effingham, Illinois died 10:10 p.m. Wednesday (Oct. 10, 2001) in St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital, Effingham, Illinois.
Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday in Lockart and Sons Funeral Home, Beecher City, Illinois with the Rev. Jeff Michaels officiating. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Friday and one hour before services on Saturday. Burial will be in Beecher City Cemetery, Beecher City, Illinois. Memorials: American Cancer Society or donor's choice.
Mrs. Kalber was born Nov. 18, 1922, in Okmulgee, Oklahoma, the daughter of William E. and Mary Davis Balch. She was a member of Christ Church of Effingham, Illinois and was a volunteer with Come Share. She worked as a waitress in area restaurants for many years. She married George L. Kalber May 5, 1942, and he preceded her in death.
She is survived by son, Terry Kalber and wife Judy of Effingham, Illinois; daughters, Francie Johnson and husband James of Decatur, Illinois; Melissa Koester and husband Jude of Effingham, Illinois; sister, Sarah Doty of Beecher City, Illinois; brother, William Balch Jr. and wife Reenie of Fairfield Glade, Tennessee; eight grandchildren; one great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister, Frances Balch Anderson, sister-in-law, Patty Fields Balch and brother-in-law, James Doty.
